[Cro Dreoilin] Celtic Artists

A long time ago, maybe during the renaissance of Irish music in the
middle of last century, an Irish musician looked at a tenor banjo, which
is a 4-stringed banjo with a shorter neck than the blue grass
kind--often used in Jazz and Zydeco--and noticed it was tuned in fifths
like a fiddle. Since then, tenor banjos, tuned like fiddles have been
somewhat popular in Irish step dance music. For a good example of Irish
tenor banjo, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z07VrjbXFCQ (Angelina
Carberry). I don't have time to give you more examples because I have
to go to work. However she is one of the current masters.
