That does make more sense, but with the comment about a portal of some sort
being opened is where I'm not quite getting it. How I am reading that is
less a pine tree and more of a neighbor. You have never met your neighbor
so have not opened any sort of communication or possibility of a
relationship. This may mean that you are not aware of the existence of your
neighbor, but this doesn't mean that your neighbor cannot affect changes in
your life.
