For many, and probably originally, humility meant far more than simple 
honesty about oneself.  It is about being 'low' (from the Latin word 
"humus" - earth) and implies not engaging in prideful behavior (being 
"modest", not bragging) and giving respect and submission to one's 
"betters".  In other words, humility often means believing less of 
yourself than actually is true, or at least, giving off that impression. 
Even in the East, humility means the dissolution of the ego or giving up 
one's understanding of one's self as an independent being.

None of that is consistent with the values of the ancient Celts.

I am happy if you do not have such conditioning to overcome; beware that 
your "honesty" is not overly pejorative.
